From Chaos to Beauty: A Creative Journey with INSPIRE

I’m popping in with a little recap of our beautiful INSPIRE #2 session, which took place on April 7th with a group of amazing women from around the world.

With this post, I want to give you a glimpse of what we created together. You also get step-by-step instructions on how to make your own inspiring little art book using nothing more than a single sheet of paper, bold colors, and about 30 minutes of playful, creative time.

Ready? Let go. Lose your mind and step into that joyful, curious play mode—just like a child.

    INSPIRE #2 Recap: Leporello Magic

Create an arty flip book (Leporello)

We started with a single sheet of paper, colored it freely and intuitively, no rules, just flow.

We played with colors, choosing those we were most attracted to in the present moment. We wrote, doodled, draw and painted, splashed and smeared for about 20 minutes.

The photo above is a compilation of some sheets created and shared by the participants during INSPIRE #2.

    The magic moment

Then came the magic moment: folding, cutting, and transforming the colored sheet into a sweet and inspiring artist book.

A sheet of paper that felt like nothing special split into pages becomes a book full of sparks for new ideas.

    When Chaos turns to Beauty

The beauty of leporello making lies in the unexpected: what first seems messy, wild, maybe “not good enough,” too bold, too faded, too much, not enough...shifts:
As you flip through the page, the apparent chaos turns into something else. It makes us focus on small sections and reveals hidden beauties.

I use leporello making whenever I feel stuck — both in my creative work and in my personal life. It lightens me up, allowing me a break from seriousness. And more often than not, one of the little pages has been the jumpstart for larger artwork.

Every Book, A Window to the Soul

One of my favorite parts in the INSPIRE gatherings is getting inspired by the art of each participant. It was heartwarming to see how each of us shaped her unique book! Each one felt like a glimpse into a unique universe.

Missed the session? Here's your leporello guide

If you weren't able to join live or would like to create another leporello, here's the instruction sheet I shared in the session.

the image above shows different possibilities to fold and then cut a piece of paper to transform it into a leporello

    Mark Your calendar :
    Tuesday May 13th INSPIRE #3

I genuinely believe the real magic happens when we create together.
Collaboration sparks inspiration and amplifies our creative energy. Plus, when we commit to a time with others, it’s often easier to honor that space for ourselves, too.

    Intuitive Collage Making!
Expect scissors, glue, and a healthy dose of creative chaos.

    What to Bring:

    • 3 sheets of letter-sized paper (A4)

    • Non-glossy magazines, old books, or any printed images you’re happy to cut up may be even photos?

    • any kind of paper you have around: from packing paper to tissu paper or even napkins

    • Glue (I love using white wood glue or special collage binder, but any glue will do!)

    • Pencils, paints, markers — whatever you love and have nearby

Please don't forget to sign up for each event separately!

    Same spirit, new surprises!
I can’t wait to see where inspiration will take us this time.

    With love,
    Ariane

If you can afford it, a small donation helps me keep up the enthusiasm to offer these creative breaks for everyone.

    THANK YOU!
