Nomadic solo travel, a lifestyle I'll adopt

In February 2025, I went on my first solo travel along the southwest coast of France, sleeping, living, and working in my van. A new lifestyle, I am pretty sure, I'll adopt on a regular basis. Freshly divorced and my daughter out of the nest, why not enjoy what I always loved—a nomadic life?

    Traveling solo allows traveling intuitively!

On this first solo trip, I spent more time with myself than ever before. Alone, I was able feel into what I really want and did it immediately. No long discussions and compromises! Traveling solo allowed me to travel intuitively. At every minute, I took decisions from my heart and did what felt right in the present moment. I learned so much about my beautiful self, and also I discovered how quickly I can change my mind. I so often laughed about myself because of that!

It felt very strange after a couple of days; it just felt AWESOME and RIGHT!

Half-part holidays: continuing some coaching and online workshops

A huge difference compared to other holidays: this time I continued working. My aim was to see if it was possible to do my coaching and workshop facilitating also from abroad.

For the first workshop session, I rented a hotel room but then became brave enough to try my first coaching session out of the car. Boosted by positive feedback from the coached person, I went on and even did an "evening class," just equipped with a headlamp, candlelight and pre-recorded videos.

Wild camping on beautiful spots facing the ocean

One of the advantages of traveling with a van is that I can sleep in ordinary parking slots. I found beautiful spots, often facing the ocean.

What better way to start the day than with the sound of waves?

After an hour or two of "computer work," I started my day with a walk or dancing on the beach, where I often got caught by intuitive creativity. Inspired by found objects, I created ephemeral sculptures or sand pictures. This happened naturally. Attracted by something I saw, I started playing and often got lost for hours in my own inner world like a child. Do I have to describe how wonderful this felt?

LET IT GO LET IT FLOW!
    Playful creativity at the beach

    Listen to my higher self

As I listened to my inner self on what I wanted at each moment, I spent most of my time creating. It allowed me to loosen up from attachments and dive into the flow of inspiration.

This way I spent hours playing with my own shadow

And enjoyed great moments painting intuitively and abstractly on papers while listening to the meditative sound of the ocean waves, like these papers, which probably will find their way in a paper-wool-felt composition in the near future.

My whole life, I loved collecting things in nature, and on this trip, no one could stop me!

    Felt series with found objects

In the afternoon I installed a small felting studio in nature. Intuitively, I started incrusting some of the found objects into paper-wool-felt. I composed with found cords, stones, wood, shells, algues and even plastic garbage from the beach. Always in the flow of inspiration and just doing it with playful curiosity. It feels I'm working on a series here :)!

Guided by "what if’...? "  and serendipity, things just appeared, witnesses of my first solo travel

The pictures below show how a found algae is felted into paper-wool-felt:

    1. The algue as I found it:

    2. laid on white merino wool

    3. felted with white paper on top.

Beginning of a paper-wool felt piece with wood pieces inside:

a collection of stones ready to be felted in:

A piece of wood that looked like a noose inspired me to felt a headsculpture:

A cord and an algue were felted in below. At one point the piece curled itself like a seashell.

    Monoprinting with painted felt

While coloring one of these felted-in objects, I suddenly had the impulse to make a monoprint. I pressed the painted surface onto a piece of paper, and voilà: I obtained a first beautiful monoprint! I

I got completely absorbed by this experimental play! On one point, the printing became more important than the felt work, which by the end was a real mess :).

Feeling empowered through creative play and letting go of any intention

Through this first solo travel and my willingness to go with the flow, I was able to spend gorgeous holidays with my beautiful self. I connected deeply to my inner child and experimented my surroundings with the overwhelming excitement we are all born with. A of curiosity and wonder.

As this connection goes hand in hand with positivity and joyfulness, my batteries are fully recharged, and I am happy to step into my new power. More about this and the new path I will travel on from now in my next blog post. Until then, I hope this travel rport fills you with inspiration and good vibes!

    XO on the road!

    With LOVE,

    Ariane
